Kate Lanphear is for lovers
Well, VA is for lovers so the saying goes. Kate spent her youth in VA as did I. I thought that was the only thing we had in common. After coming across an article in Elle late last year I discovered we actually share some other common threads.
I, too, tried to fit my family's preppy ideal. Like Kate, I realized in the end that acid wash jeans, studs, and lots of black were my style du jour. Both of us also drove around town listening to Appetite for Destruction in cars decked out with personalized license plates. Just when I thought I couldn't love her more...

Long Time No Post
I have been in my own little whirlwind lately and shunning my blog. I am back in the saddle. I spent the weekend in Indio for Coachella. We stayed at an amazing house that was owned by Bing Crosby, had backstage access to the shows, and rubbed elbows with the stars.
While sunning by our pool Friday I was surprised to look up and see Erin Wasson walk into our house. She is someone I have always admired for her unique looks, great style, and impressive career. She didn't disappoint in person. Just as stunning, just as stylish, and really nice.
As we packed up Sunday I spotted Erin catching some rays. Erin Wasson, long and lanky sunning herself out on our lawn. It was a slightly surreal moment marking the end to a surreal weekend...

"I only wear the latest thing. It's my job."- Karl Lagerfeld
I spent the evening watching Lagerfeld Confidentiel by Rodolphe Marconi. It was quite insightful and entertaining. Karl has a sharp tongue...that we have in common.

More to Love?
While waiting on Lula every six months or so I supplement by sorting through the pages of Love. Word on the street is the magazine is in for big changes come the next issue. Seems old Conde Nast would like more spectacular sell through, go figure. I hope the suits don't mess up the formula...

Rated XX
I have a hot date with the xx in the coming weeks and I couldn't be more excited. Their style brings back dear memories of my Siouxsie tees, Docs, and witch tights. I wore them everyday in the late 80s and early 90s...yes, I am kind of old.

Whoa Mama
One of my new guilty pleasures is Terry Richardson's new blog. I adore the photos he has posted of his mom. She's a real pistol, I would guess. http://www.terrysdiary.com/
